In Passing: China

“Visa Not Required” is a street photography project developed during my travels across China. The work explores everyday life beyond the familiar image of the country shaped by large cities and tourist representations.

The series moves through different regions, from smaller towns to rural landscapes, where I observed life in its quieter forms. The photographs capture ordinary moments — gestures, interactions, and quiet scenes that reveal people within their surroundings.

Rather than focusing on a familiar or representative perspective, the work is guided by attention to atmosphere and the subtle rhythms of everyday experience.

The project reflects how place is experienced through fragments of daily life, where stillness, routine, and human presence shape the visual language without attempting to define or summarize it.
